Welcome to MelMac Designs, we like to work with easy going busy professionals who place value on their home and would like to trust our 20 years of experience to design their space. We have a very personal and transparent approach to our design process and offer a full service experience from design to implementation. We specialize in kitchens, bathroom and full home renovations and service Manotick, Greely, Barrhaven, Kanata & Stittsville.

Get to Know Me
Hi, I am Melissa Mcdonald and designing spaces has always been a passion of mine. In 2003 I moved to Ottawa from my home town in Nova Scotia to pursue this passion. I have been running MelMac Designs since 2008 and have helped many clients with a variety of design needs.
I love my job and welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.
Working with us you can expect a clear defined process, communication, transparency and an amazing group of trades I have spent years building relationships with.
When I am not designing, I am a mom of two busy and beautiful boys and wife to an incredibly supportive husband. On the weekends you'll often find me at a hockey rink or spending time with my friends and family.
Clients have often described me as very personable, honest and reliable. I would love the opportunity to earn your trust to work with you on your design project.

Junior Designer
Jessica Nora Allard
Jessica is a recent graduated from Algonquin College.
She brings a fresh ideas, creativity and a strong understanding of design principals to every project. Many of our design projects include her drafting and rendering skills, helping provide our clients 3D visual tools to realized their spaces potential. She also loves helping source the perfect materials to incorporate into our clients homes.
When she is no t designing she is a busy mom to two beautiful children.
Rate: $110/hour
Intermediate Designer
Eden Lucuik
Eden graduated from Ryerson University in 2021 with a Bachelor Degree of Interior Design.
She specializes in CAD drawings to create the floor plans and elevations for our clients projects. She has a passion for sustainable design and human behaviour and how it affects the space we live in. Her creative talent gives valuable insight to all of our projects.
When she is not designing or working on CAD at a local coffee shop she is likely spending her free time building furniture, traveling, or doing yoga.
Rate: $130/hour
Administrative Assistant
Gen Armitage
As we expand our team, we're thrilled to welcome the friendly and very organized force behind the scene at MelMac Designs; meet Gen, our Administrative Assistant.
You'll likely meet Gen at our initial consultation, busy taking notes from our meeting; making sure we have a clear understanding of your project and we don't miss any details.
Gen has a background in the medical field and a real love for beautiful spaces, and brings a calm, efficient, and detailed approach to every task.
Rate $75/hour
